Q01: What is Singapore 2010 Odyssey?

A01: Singapore 2010 Odyssey is a virtual world.
Singapore 2010 Odyssey is the first Olympic-themed virtual world! By combining fun casual games, social networking, and user-content generation for youths all over the world, it offers interaction and engagement through exciting activities based on the Olympic values of excellence, friendship and respect.


Singapore 2010 Odyssey is also a unique tool which allows both educators and students to harness the benefits of interactive learning through a high-tech virtual platform.

Q02: When is Singapore 2010 Odyssey scheduled to go "live"?

A02: The Singapore 2010 Odyssey was launched on 6th March 2010. Go register for an account here if you haven't already.

Q03: What does Singapore 2010 Odyssey offer?

A03: Players are able to interact with others across the world in a borderless, futuristic environment, engage in fun games and socialize.


With its compelling visuals, it not only allows users a high level of character customization for self-expression, but also enables youth and Olympic-enthusiasts to discover the spirit of the first Youth Olympic Games, being held in Singapore this August 2010, and stay connected to the event, no matter where they are.


For educators, Singapore 2010 is a unique platform for e-learning, harnessing the interactive and highly-customizable elements of a virtual world environment to engage and educate students beyond the classroom.

Q04: What can I do inside virtual world?

A04: There are a variety of activities you can perform in the Virtual World:
a) Learn about Olympics values.
b) Play 3D and Flash Games
c) Explore the replica of the venues in Singapore, such as the Youth Olympic Village in the National Institute of Education, the Singapore Sports School, the Marina Barrage & The Float @ Marina Bay
d) Explore the "Sandbox" where user generated content is being showcased.

Q05: Is there any event going on inside the virtual world? How would I join?

A05: There are now daily events running in the Virtual World, you can join the events at the following times.
a. Archery and Swimming, 8pm (Singapore timing, GMT+8)
b. Shooting and Hurdles, 10pm (Singapore timing, GMT+8)

Do note that event timings are subjected to change. Please visit our website at for updates and event related announcements.

You can join the event by following the steps below:

a) Start your Odyssey application, or if started press the 'Home' key.
b) Once you are in the lobby, press 'M' key and teleport yourself to the Reception Room.
c) Click on the "Click to Exit" Door, and you will be transported to the Gateway.
d) A game master who will be organizing the event will be there to assist you.

Q06:Can users create their own content / user-generated 3D model?

A06: Currently, the User Generated Content Tool is only available for selected schools and institutions. However, if you are keen to submit your creations for Singapore 2010 Odyssey, please provide us with your contact information and name of your school (if applicable) through help@singapore2010odyssey.sg and we will get back to you soon.

Q07: Is Singapore 2010 Odyssey a web-based virtual world or do users need to download a client?

A07: You will need to download and install a client from our website in order to access to the virtual world. There is a blue Download button on the top right hand corner of the website.

Q08: What are the system requirements?

A08: The minimum system requirements are:-

Q09: Is Singapore 2010 Odyssey Mac compatible?

A09:We regret to inform you that Singapore 2010 Odyssey is not Mac compatible.

Q10: Can users log in automatically via WhyOhGee? Are the sites integrated?

A10:The sites are not integrated. This is to allow users the choice to be present in either or both of the sites. Singapore 2010 Odyssey login is via www.singapore2010.sg/o.

Q11: How do I change my password?

A11:Please follow the steps below:
a) Start your Internet Browser and navigate to the website at www.singapore2010.sg/o.
b) Login to the website using your username and password. The username and password fields are located at the top of the website.
c) Click on the "Settings" link on the top of the page. You would be directed to the Settings Page.
d) Click on the "Change Password" link under the "My Account" section
e) Enter your current and new desired password onto the form provided.
f) Click the "Save Changes" button to confirm the change in password.

Q12: How do I get to know about the functions in Virtual World?

A12:Please press "F1" key or Help button located at the bottom of the Virtual World Interface.
Alternatively, you can view the User Guide under the Support section.

Q13: How do I teleport?

A13:You can do either of the following to teleport to different locations in the virtual world:
a) Press "M" for map and you will be able to teleport to your area of choice by clicking on the green circled buttons.
b) You can click on the teleport points situated at prominent locations in the Virtual World.

Do note that you can also press the "HOME" key to return to the Singapore 2010 Odyssey Lobby.

Q14: Why can't I join/start/play a game?

A14:You need to click on the "Join" button to be accepted as a participant. If you cannot see purple "join" buttons, this means that the game has already commenced, and you will have to wait for it to end before you can participate.
Alternatively, you can go back to the lobby and join another room.

Q15: How come there are buttons I cannot click?

A15:There are currently several buttons disabled in Singapore 2010 Odyssey interface. They are namely the "Inventory" and "Club" buttons which would be enabled in the near future. Should the "faulty" button not be one of the above, please provide us with a screenshot for us to assist you.

Q16: What kind of user support is offered?

A16:It is our aim to offer the best user experience via an environment that is user-friendly. Singapore 2010 Odyssey offers 24x7 in-world support.

Please be informed that our operational hours are from 08:30 hours (GMT +8) to 18:00 hours (GMT +8), Monday to Friday excluding Singapore Public holidays.

Q17: How can the moderators help me?

A17: The moderators would be able to assist you in a variety of ways. Some examples are:

a) Provide help on general enquires.
b) Guide you to various places in the virtual world.
c) Assist you should another user harass you.

Moderators are located at prominent places, such as the "Gateway", and the entrance of the Youth Olympics Village. They can be easily identified by their avatar names.

Q18: Can moderators help kick someone out of virtual world if he/she keeps bugging me?

A18:Please provide us with the username of the person who is disturbing you and the description of the incident leading to this request. The moderators will investigate the case and take relevant actions to prevent and discourage cyber-bullying and other anti-social behavior.
