The highly anticipated inaugural Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games is finally here with the lighting of the cauldron at the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games Opening Ceremony. A big thank you to everyone who has participated in the Journey of the Youth Olympic Flame in Singapore 2010 Odyssey – we hope you've enjoyed it as much as we did.

The Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games are coming! And in the 3010 world, the inter-galactic Games are about to begin as well...

But what’s this?

The Fire Medallions are missing!

We can’t start the inter-galactic Games without them!

It’s up to you now to find the 7 Fire Medallions in Singapore 2010 Odyssey and help avert the Games from disaster!

A Fire Medallion appears in the Odyssey game every time the Youth Olympic Flame back here in the real world arrives at a new city. Collect all 7 Fire Medallions and we will give you whopping 20,000 sports credits!

That’s not all though!

We will also be putting up a new quiz on this website whenever the Flame arrives at a new city. Test how well you know the city and you will be generously rewarded! For every quiz completed, you will receive 1000 sports credits and the highest total scorer will win a Panasonic Camera.

Furthermore, those who complete at least one website quiz and collect all 7 Fire Medallions will be entitled to the Lucky Draw, where they will stand a chance to win a Samsung Jet (S8003) smartphone and Lyo & Merly Plush Toy sets!

Event Overview

• The Journey of the Youth Olympic Flame in Odyssey is open from 22 July to 14 August 2010
• The event is organized to occur simultaneously on the Singapore 2010 Odyssey website and in the Singapore 2010 Odyssey Virtual World. 
• This event is divided into 2 parts:
  • Website event: players are required to complete 7 online quizzes 
  • In-world event: players are required to collect 7 Fire Medallions

The first quiz and Fire Medallion will be released on 22 July 2010, subsequent phases will start at 0000 hrs (GMT+8 hrs) on the start-day of each stage of the flame journey. Check the following schedule for releases.

Schedule

**Each quiz will be updated at 2359 hrs on the last day of every phase e.g. Phase 1 will end at 23 July 2359 hrs and phase 2 will start at 24 July 0000hrs.

Rules and Regulations

1. Requirements for Lucky Draw:

• • Player must complete at least 1 website quiz AND
  • Player must collect all the 7 Fire Medallions

Players will qualify for the lucky draw if they complete at least 1 quiz & collect all 7 Fire Medallions, terms and conditions apply. Players will obtain extra chances in the lucky draw if they complete more quizzes.

Example:

Players who completed 7 quizzes & collected all 7 Fire Medallions have 7 chances in the lucky draw,

players who completed 3 quizzes & collected all 7 Fire Medallions have 3 chances in the lucky draw

2. Journey of the Youth Olympic Flame (Website Quiz)

I. Overview

1. 1. Divided into 7 quizzes
   2. Each quiz coincides with each stage of the actual flame journey
   3. Each quiz consists of 7 questions

II. How to score

1. 1. One(1) point is awarded for each correct answer
   2. No points will be awarded for wrong answer
   3. Every player who submits each quiz will gain 1000 sports credits. Players are encourage to use the same email addresses they registered as users

III. The player can

1. 1. view his score at the end of each phase
   2. take the quiz only once (i.e. submit once)
   3. accumulate as many points as possible.
   4. view his accumulated score in his profile page

V.    When the torch has passed onto the next city

1. 1. A new quiz will be put up on the website
   2. Player who misses the previous quiz will not be able to take the quiz again
   3. Player can continue with the remaining quizzes whether or not Player has attempted the previous quiz
   4. This cycle will repeat until the torch reaches Singapore on 6 August 2010

3. Journey of the Youth Olympic Flame (Odyssey Quest)

I. Location: Singapore 2010 Odyssey Virtual World, ”Island of the Youth Olympic Flame"

1. 1. A new island designed for this event
   2. Players can find related information on the Journey of the Youth Olympic Flame here
   3. To visit the Island of the Youth Olympic Flame, find the Youth Olympic Cauldron located at 

                         - 3010 gateway

                         - Youth Olympic Village

II.       How to play

1. 1. Artefact related to the city whose cauldron has been lit will be displayed in the Island
   2. Player must find the artefact in order to earn one (1) Fire Medallion
   3. Each Player need to collect only ONE Fire Medallion from each city
   4. Player need to collect 7 Fire Medallions from the 7 cities
   5. To view the number of Fire Medallions you've collected, click on 'Profile', 'Olympic Values' in the Singapore 2010 Odyssey.
   
   

III.      Journey of the Youth Olympic Flame:

          Starting from Greece - Germany - Senegal - Mexico - New Zealand - South Korea – Singapore

V.    Reward

          Players who have collected all 7 Fire Medallions will be awarded with 20,000 sports credits.

Prize collection

• • All winners will be notified via email on 15th August 2010
  • Details on how prize collection will be included in the email
  • Players must collect their prizes within 30 Days after the email notification
  • All unclaimed prizes will be forfeited
  • All requests to collect the prizes after the collection period has expired will not be entertained
  • All winners must print and bring along the email notification as documentary proof during the prize collection
  • Winners who fail to produce the required document will not be allowed to collect the prize.

Terms and Conditions

• • This contest is open to all players of the Singapore 2010 Odyssey.  Any persons assisting or involved in this promotion and the Singapore 2010 Odyssey project team are not eligible to win the prizes.
  • Players who do not meet the requirement will not be eligible for the lucky draw. See "Requirement".
  • In any event of multiple players who obtain the perfect or the same high score,
  • The winner will be the one who complete and submit the 7 quizzes earliest (based on system logs).
  • All winners will be notified by email and the results will be announced on the Singapore 2010 Odyssey website and Facebook
  • The Organiser reserves the right to disclose and publish the name and any other particulars of the winners (including photographs) for publicity purposes. By participating in the contest, the winners agree to co-operate with and to participate in such publicity activities without any additional payment or compensation.
  • The Organiser shall have the sole discretion to determine whether any participant should be disqualified by reason of failure to abide by these terms and conditions, bad faith, fraud or any other reason whatsoever.
  • All decisions made by The Organiser in respect of this promotion or in the event of any dispute are final and no correspondence will be entertained.
